Founder & CEO

David Benderly

David Benderly is a scientist, inventor, and developer with a graduate degree in astrophysics. He specializes in photonics, laser systems, machine vision, micro and nanofabrication, microscopy, and material science.

Mr. Benderly also happens to be third generation in the jewelry trade. His great-uncle, Joseph Nadel, was one of the founders of the Israeli diamond industry. He has handled diamonds since he was a child crawling on the bourse floor, finding fallen stones to the delight of the diamantaires. For more than three decades, he’s been involved in almost every facet of diamond and jewelry manufacturing.

Mr. Benderly bridges his education, background and passion for science with his intimate knowledge of diamonds at PhotoScribe Technologies. He’s a leader and an innovator, possessing 19 patents and counting.

Executive Vice President

Carol Dounn

Carol Dounn has been working with David Benderly since 1993. As Mr. Benderly’s trusted right hand, she manages a variety of responsibilities for a company that’s always evolving. From overseeing the sales department to expediting the production line, she’s the eyes and ears of PhotoScribe Technologies. While she was not “born” into the industry, her roots run deep with both grandfathers, an uncle and brother involved. She was swept up in diamonds and jewelry early on with her first job at Foremost Casting over 36 years ago.

Operations Vice President

Juliane Sheedy

Juliane Sheedy has been working with David Benderly since 1994. She joined the team as a data entry clerk right after graduating from college, promising to give Mr. Benderly two years before she left to pursue her “real career”. Little did she know she would be a lifer! Throughout the years, Ms. Sheedy has found new opportunities for PhotoScribe’s growth, serving in various roles that led to her current position as Operations Vice President. Her organizational and financial management skills have kept a tight rein on PhotoScribe’s projects and budget.
