PhotoScribe Upgrades LMS Laser Systems

PhotoScribe Technologies, Inc. announces upgraded features for their LMS-650 and LMS-650XS laser systems.

PhotoScribe’s upgraded features are now standard for the LMS-650 and LMS-650XS laser systems used to inscribe diamonds and gemstones.

New standard features include:

    • Motorized Aperture Beam Size Adjustment: PhotoScribe lasers are capable of inscribing various thicknesses of inscription lines (beam diameter). Since girdle marking produces letters only a fraction of a human hair in width, controlling the beam accurately requires minute adjustments of the aperture. Exclusive to PhotoScribe’s LMS lasers, the motorized aperture allows users to automatically adjust and set a precise laser beam size (thickness) which allows for finer beam size adjustment, control and repeatability.
    • High Speed Precision Stage: The new stage doubles the speed of laser marking while providing a higher resolution accuracy and repeatability. This upgraded stage is rated for submicron accuracy, compared to 3-4 micron in the previous stage. This is an excellent choice for operations that anticipate higher volume of production.
    • Central Server Control of Laser System: This software feature allows LMS lasers to be controlled from a centralized main server, reducing or eliminating the chance for operator error. Information to be inscribed (serial number, logo, height and thickness of inscription, etc) can now be pushed to the laser from a main server. The laser then sends confirmation of the inscription to the server.

“PhotoScribe LMS laser systems are the industry standard and are used by all major labs worldwide. These improved, standard features on LMS laser systems really solidify PhotoScribe’s laser systems as the industry leader and put them in a class of their own,” says David Benderly, President of PhotoScribe Technologies. Two weeks ago, PhotoScribe announced a groundbreaking new economical laser system for “invisible” inscriptions on diamonds with the LMS-650XS excimer laser.
